Historically, Utah varied its plate colors annually. This 1958 edition featured a distinct color scheme of yellow numbering on a dark blue background.

Framing the Question

How much consideration would you say goes into the license plates that adorn the vehicles we love to drive? I’m proposing that for far too long, most of us have had too little consideration for the aesthetics and engineering of such things. Vanity plates and cheap frames falling far short of what actually matters. Are we willing to finally embrace the bureaucratic ritual of automotive identification and take the time to investigate where we can improve?
